Kilmarnock 10 Melrose 40

On a soft pitch and into the wind Melrose took the lead after 10 minutes of this BT Cup Round 4 match with Scott Aitken diving over for a try. Shortly after, following a line out after a penalty, Richard Higgins was driven over for a try. At 35 minutes a similar move saw Wayne Mitchell scoring a try, and then, just before half time Robbie Stewart kicked a penalty for Kilmarnock.
Half time - Kilmarnock 3 Melrose 15.
Scott Ruthven kicked two penalties at 55 & 60 minutes. Mitchell was then driven over the line following a line out for his second try, this time converted by Ruthven from the touchline. Fine handling by Melrose was finished off with Graeme Dodds diving over for a try. Kilmarnock came back into the game after this and after some good handling Stuart Pratt scored a try converted by Stewart. Just before no-side Andrew Skene kicked ahead out of defence, gathered, interchanged passes with Johnny Weston and scored the final try, converted by Ruthven.
