Glasgow Hawks 50 Melrose 8

Being yet another Sunday fixture for the BT Premiership the predictably small crowd saw Iain Monaghan charge down a poor clearance kick from the back of a 5 metre scrum to score the first Hawks try six minutes into the match, Scott Ruthven replying with a penalty four minutes later. At the end of the first quarter Monaghan received a pass from Mark Sitch, who had broken off from a 5 metre scrum, for his second try, this one being converted by Murray Strang. At 28 minutes Ally Maclay broke through for a try, converted by Strang, and then, just on the interval, Steve Swindall drove over for a try, converted by Strang.
Half time - Glasgow Hawks 26 Melrose 3.
The second half had hardly started before Strang raced over for a try which he, himself, converted. It took another 20 minutes before the next try, scored by Colin Shaw, and, 5 minutes later Mark Robertson crossed for a try for Melrose. Almost immediately Steven Duffy scored a try, converted by Strang, and then, with no-side approaching, Strang scored his second try.
Glasgow Hawks 50 Melrose 8.
