Melrose 20 Watsonians 12

BT Premiership action returned to The Greenyards, but with a 1.30pm kick off to accommodate the Scotland v Australia match at Murrayfield later in the day. Five minutes after the start Scott Wight took a quick tap penalty 10 metres from the Watsonian line and crossed for a try which he, himself, converted. Watsonians closed the gap with two Bernard Hennessey penalties at 11 & 29 minutes.
Half time - Melrose 7 Watsonians 6.
A few minutes into the second half Wayne Mitchell burrowed his way through, in characteristic fashion, for a try converted by Wight, and not long after Hennessey kicked his third penalty. Five minutes later Wight slotted a drop goal, and then, again, Hennessey replied with a penalty. Shortly before no-side Wight completed his "full house" of scores by kicking a penalty.
Melrose 20 Watsonians 12.
