Another lacklustre away from home performance saw defeat for Melrose in this BT Premiership match. Sam Hendry and Scott Ruthven swapped penalties at 4 & 6 minutes. On the quarter hour David McCall scored his first try, converted by Hendry, then, just on the break, Hendry kicked his second penalty.

Hendry kicked his third penalty at 54 minutes, followed by a magic spell of six minutes for the hosts who scored three tries by McCall (57 & 63 minutes) and Richard Vernon (60 minutes), all converted by Hendry, to give them a "bonus point". At 70 minutes Ruthven scored an opportunist try which he converted, and, shortly after, Karne Kaufana, running from half way, scored a try converted by Ruthven. However, Nicky Wood put the final nail in the coffin sprinting in for a try converted by Hendry.
