Boroughmuir 46 Melrose 36

This BT Premiership match was played with a strong and gusting wind the length of the pitch. Playing into the wind Boroughmuir opened the scoring after 15 minutes with Rory Couper shrugging off several tackles to power over for a try. Six minutes later centre Jamie Murray popped in under the posts for a try converted by Scott Ruthven. Ruthven's penalty at 26 minutes increased the Melrose lead which was short lived as Ross Cook ended a series of moves scoring a try which he, himself, converted. Five minutes later Mark Robertson's first try changed the lead which again changed at 37 minutes with Angus Martyn's try. Just at the break Robertson's second try, converted by Ruthven, gave Melrose the half-time lead.

The Melrose "bonus point" try came at 64 minutes courtesy of Robertson's "hat trick" and Ruthven's conversion returned the lead to Melrose. A minute later Robert Cairns' try, converted by Cook, changed the lead again. The Boroughmuir lead was increased at 73 minutes when prop Kyle Traynor scored a try converted by Cook. Two minutes later Cammy Murray scored a try converted by Ruthven to reduce the Boroughmuir lead to 5 points.
