Boroughmuir 23 Melrose 27

In dreadful weather conditions this Premier 1 match provided the small posse of supporters with an entertaining match. After 10 minutes of soaking up Boroughmuir pressure Melrose managed to invade the home team territory for the first time and put 3 points on the board with Scott Wight's penalty. At 23 minutes the scores were levelled when Ross Cook kicked his first penalty. Shortly after that Callum Anderson flashed down the left touchline to score a try near the corner. Three minutes later Charlie Keenan scored a try following a kick ahead.
Half time - Boroughmuir 8 Melrose 8.
A few minutes into the second half Mark Robertson burst through the home defence to dot down between the posts for a try converted by Wight. Cook reduced the deficit with a penalty and, two minutes later, Andy Hadden scored a try in the corner to give Boroughmuir the lead. Charlie Robson, at 60 minutes, returned the lead to Melrose when he burst off a maul and, darting up the blindside, scored a try in the corner. Five minutes later Malcolm Clapperton's try, converted by Cook, gave Boroughmuir a three point lead, but, with six minutes remaining, Robertson's angled run led to his second, and the Melrose "bonus point", try, Wight converting.
Boroughmuir 23 Melrose 27.
