The kick off for this SHE Premier 1 match was delayed for 15 minutes, the Melrose arrival in Dundee having been delayed because of roadworks on the Forth Road Bridge. Three minutes into this SHE Premier 1 clash Wayne Mitchell did what he does best burrowing over for a try. Watsonians replied, at 15 minutes, when Ali Rowe scored a try converted by Andrew Skeen. Following the recent rains, and a morning pitch inspection, the pitch was, understandably, somewhat "heavy", but the overhead conditions for this SHE Premier 1 match were fine. Melrose opened the match by spinning the ball wide at every opportunity. Thanks to groundsman, Gordon Barkham, The Greenyards pitch was in great condition, despite the recent rains and snow, for this SHE Premier 1 match.
