Back to: 1st XV Results and Fixture List 2007/8 Melrose 22 Boroughmuir 17
The final SHE Premier 1 match for these two teams was played on a wet and somewhat slippery Greenyards with rain falling for most of the afternoon. Two minutes into the match the visitors broke down the stand side ending with Angus Martyn slithering over for a try in the Town Corner. Both tight head forwards were "sin-binned" two minutes later for "handbagging" each other and ignoring the referee's whistle. Scott Wight put Melrose on the scoresheet with a penalty after 17 minutes. At 20 minutes, following a "breenge" up the middle of the pitch by Ross Miller, Mark Robertson collected a cross-kick to the wing and scored a try in the Church Corner, Wight adding the conversion points. At the restart referee, Graham Knox, injured his calf and had to be replaced by touch judge, Malcolm Changleng. Two minutes later Robertson received the ball on the Boroughmuir 22 and raced in, again, to the Church Corner for his second try. Just on the interval, from a pick and drive after a scrum 5, Cam Ward "barrelled" over for a try in the Policeman's Corner. Back to: 1st XV Results and Fixture List 2007/8 Date: 29/03/2008 |
