Melrose 25 Peebles 15

Callum MacRae started off the scoring in this Border League match kicking penalties in the 1st & 7th minutes to give Melrose a six point lead. Despite this, Peebles were the stronger team at this stage of the game and, at 25 minutes, during the spell that Marcello Munoz was in the "sin-bin", James White drove over for a Peebles try.

9 minutes into the second half Callum Farmer finished a fine handling move by scoring a try in the corner to give Peebles the lead. The Melrose players were then stung into action and retrieved the lead with Scott Ruthven jinking up the middle of the pitch to score a try between the posts, converted by MacRae. Five minutes later Robbie Robinson rumbled over for the second Melrose try, and then, on the half hour, Jamie Blackwood ended a fine move to score a try in the corner, converted by MacRae. Not to be outdone Dave Dillon drove over for Peebles third try just before no-side.
