Melrose won the Border League at Riverside defeating Jedforest 26 - 18. In an exciting game which could have gone either way Jamie Murray scored the deciding try 3 minutes from time. The game turned out to be a typical Border derby with passions running high. Melrose were reduced to 13 men with 2 in the sin bin during the first half with Jed finding themselves short of a player in the second although this was far from being a dirty game - just one that both sides were determined to win. Melrose other points came from a try by Wayne Mitchell and the boot of Scott Wight with 3 penalty and a drop goal. Jeds points were from 5 penalty goals and a drop goal.
